THE SHORT ANSWER

Define what each test is intended to assess, which course, batch and subjects it covers, and how marks will be reviewed. Apply negative marking only when it is part of the institute’s approved rules; verify results before sharing them. Online examination may be considered where suitable and confirmed, but do not assume OMR or question-bank functionality in Campus.

01 / PURPOSE & STRUCTURE

Build the assessment around the learning question it should answer.

A test can measure practice, topic understanding, readiness or progress across a course. Define its purpose, assessment format and subject coverage before entering dates or marks. Agree how it relates to the course and batch so staff know which learners are expected and which syllabus context applies.

Keep the institute’s academic choices explicit: maximum marks, weighting, eligibility, absence treatment and result interpretation. A software system can store and calculate according to supported inputs, but it should not silently establish the institute’s pedagogy or grading policy.

02 / SCHEDULE & SUBJECTS

Give students and staff a reliable assessment calendar.

Coordinate assessment dates with teaching plans, other tests and the institute’s batch schedule. Confirm the correct subjects and groups, and define how a reschedule is approved and communicated. If multiple centres use the same test name, preserve the relevant local context so staff do not confuse dates or cohorts.

Review the roster shortly before the assessment. Late admissions, transfers and pauses can affect who should appear in a result set. Decide how exceptions are handled and identify who resolves them. The schedule is an operational commitment; do not publish an unreviewed draft as final.

03 / MARKS & NEGATIVE MARKING

Apply the declared scoring rule consistently and check edge cases.

If the institute uses negative marking, state the rule before the test and apply it consistently across the relevant questions or assessment sections. Confirm how blank, invalid or disputed answers are treated and verify a representative calculation manually. Learners should be able to understand the basis of their result under the institute’s communication policy.

Before finalising marks, review missing entries, out-of-range values and unusual results against the source. Define who can enter or correct a score and how that correction is recorded. A plausible value can still belong to the wrong student; identity, batch, subject and assessment context should all be checked.

04 / RESULT CONTEXT

Interpret rank and percentage with cohort and test difficulty in view.

Percentages and rank can help learners understand performance relative to a defined assessment or cohort. They are not stable measures across tests of different difficulty or student groups. Explain what population is included and avoid comparing values that use different maximum marks, subject coverage or dates.

Use the result to guide a teaching conversation, not to reduce a learner to a position. Review subject-level context, progress over time and attendance where relevant, while avoiding causal conclusions. Keep the instructor’s knowledge and the learner’s circumstances part of the interpretation.

05 / ONLINE EXAMS & HISTORY

Choose a delivery mode only after verifying the actual workflow.

Online examination may fit some assessments, but the institute should confirm the delivery conditions, learner access, timing and what happens if connectivity fails. Ask which supported product workflows apply and what remains the institute’s responsibility. Do not assume proctoring, question randomisation or other controls unless evidence confirms them.

Campus declares online examination and negative marking. It does not support OMR or a question bank according to the current registry. Keep result history associated with the appropriate test, subject, course/batch and period, and establish how corrections or retakes are represented.

06 / COMMUNICATION & REVIEW

Release results after an authorised check and keep a clear record.

Agree who approves results, who communicates them and what a learner can do if a mark appears incorrect. Confirm recipients and avoid sharing individual results in a group channel. If automated notices are offered, verify their channel and direction; an outbound notice does not imply that replies are managed in the same workflow.

CodePex Campus declares test/examination creation, course/batch and subject association, scheduling, maximum marks, mark entry, results, percentages, rank, negative marking, online examinations, history and reports. OMR and question bank are not supported. Confirm the exact scoring setup, online exam conditions and result communication scope.

A FIELD GUIDE FOR YOUR TEAM

Before a coaching test becomes a published result

Review structure, scoring and communication as separate decisions. This prevents a test record from being treated as self-validating.

CODEPEX IN CONTEXT

Useful guidance begins with clear scope.

Campus declares examinations, schedules, mark entry, results, percentages, rank, negative marking and online examinations; OMR and question bank are not supported. Confirm the exact configuration and result workflow. Institute staff own assessment policy and result approval.

Product-specific statements are based on the current owner-controlled capability declaration. Ask CodePex to confirm any institution-specific configuration or unlisted requirement.
